JAMMU, DECEMBER 10- The preliminary meeting of Committee on Scholarships was today held to discuss the measures for effective implementation of Scholarship Schemes across Jammu & Kashmir.
The meeting was chaired by Commissioner Secretary Social Welfare Department, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, who is also the Chairman of the Committee and attended by Commissioner Secretary School Education Department, Sarita Chauhan; Secretary Higher Education Talat Parvez Rohella and Secretary Tribal Affairs, Abdul Majid Bhat-Members of the committee.
The Committee held detailed deliberations regarding effective implementation of scholarship schemes and simplifying the procedure for providing the benefits to the eligible persons.
The Committee decided to make uniform guidelines, applicable to all scholarship schemes. It decided to waive off some documents required at the time of submission of scholarship forms to streamline the procedure.
The Committee also decided to undertake various measures to ensure 100 percent enrollment of eligible students from SC, ST, OBC and general category at pre-matric and matric levels.
The chairman of the Committee advised the members to check the duplication of scholarship schemes and make the procedure for applying for different schemes through single web portal.
