Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession in north Kashmir.
A police party of police station Qalamabad led by SHO Qalamabad Ab Ahad Jan laid a naka at VCt Qalamabad. During naka checking one person of Lach Mawer was intercepted for checking, a police official told.
He said that during the search, 200 grams of charas was recovered from his possession. The accused has been identified as Ghulam Mohammad Wani son of Ghulam Hassan Wani of Lach Mawer.
A case FIR number 52/2018, under section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered and an investigation was taken up, he added.
