Drug peddler arrested in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal

Srinagar, Nov 20: Jammu and Kashmir police arrested a drug peddler and recovered psychotropic substance from his possession in the central Kashmir district of Ganderbal, a police spokesman said on Friday evening.

He said a check point was established by police at Lar in Ganderbal. During the checking a car was intercepted, he said adding one drug peddler identified as Adil Ahmad Wani, a resident of Shuhama, Ganderbal was arrested after Codeine Phosphate consignment was recovered from his possession.

He has been arrested and car seized, spokesman said.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 90/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Lar and investigation in the matter has been initiated.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Police has resolved to deal robustly with drug peddlers.
