Dr. Bilal directs officers to to scale up pace on JJM work

KULGAM: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today convened a meeting of concerned Officers to review status of works under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district.

During the meeting, the DC took detailed review of physical and financial progress made on various JJM Works. Executive Engineers from Qazigund and Kulgam Divisions informed the chair that there are 218 works and 140 schemes/projects under JJM in the district.

Out of 218 works, 201 works stand tendered, 146 Allotted and 108 works have been taken up while as 04 works stand completed.

The DC emphasized that every effort has to be made to ensure that the goal of tap water to all households must be achieved as per the projected timeline. He said that the Mission is envisioned to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections to all households.

He directed all the concerned officers to scale up pace on works under JJM so that the target can be achieved within the stipulated period.

He asked the officers to regularly monitor the quality and progress on all allotted works for time-bound completion.

The DC said that information dissemination is an important component of the mission and stressed on conduct of more widespread IEC activities.

During the meeting, the DC also reviewed the functioning of Pani Samitis and it was informed that all Pani Samitis are functional in the district.

The meeting was attended by JD-Planning Zahid Sajad, ACD Mohammad Imran Khan, ACP Shurjeel Ali, CMO, Executive Engineers from Qazigund, Kulgam, AEEs and other concerned Officers.
