Don’t think anybody should have objected to ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign: Omar Abdullah

Says nobody should also be asked to hoist tricolour by coercion

SRINAGAR: National Conference (NC) vice-president, Omar Abdullah has said that nobody should have any objection regarding “Har Ghar Tiranga” initiative, as this is the National Flag.

Talking to reporters, Omar yesterday said that he doesn’t think anybody should have any objection regarding the hoisting of the Tricolour in their homes.

“There is permission to hoist Tiranga in homes, so why should anybody have any objection to this? But the only difference is that there should be no compulsion as well by asking someone to hoist tricolour by force,” he added.

He also said that like there have been reports that students have been asked to deposit money for buying Tricolour, such things should not happen. “Nobody should be asked to hoist tricolour by force, but as far as ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ is concerned, I don’t think anybody should have any objection,” he said—(KNO)
