Don’t leave Valley, will fight situation together; Akbar Lone to minorities

SRINAGAR: Senior national Conference leader and Member of the Parliament, Muhammad Akbar Lone Saturday while urged the minority community members not to leave Kashmir, stating that “we will face the situation together.”

Talking to reporters after visiting the residence of slain Muhammad Shafi Dar at Naidkhai, Bandipora, who was shot dead by unknown gunmen last Tuesday, the senior NC leader said that the civilian killings that have taken place here over the last several days are totally insane.

“These killings should be stopped,” he said, adding that the government should go to the bottom and see how these attacks are being carried out.

He also appealed to minority communities to stay in the valley. “You people (minorities) don’t have to be afraid. We will fight the situation here together,” he said.

Asked that the f PDP is demanding LG’s resignation over the deteriorating security situation in Kashmir, the NC leader said that they will not ask anyone to resign. “Mehbooba Mufti may have her own opinion,” he said. He, however, said that government failure is directly responsible for the fast worsening situation in Kashmir—(KNO)
