Div Com Jammu discusses west Pakistani Refugees issues

JAMMU, DECEMBER 20: Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma today convened a meeting to discuss issues related to west Pakistani refugees and displaced persons’ cases of 1947, 1965 and 1971.

The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner Jammu, Rakesh Kumar  Srangal, Custodian Jammu, Mushtaq Malik,  Assistant Commissioner Revenue Jammu, Vijay Kumar Sharma  besides Deputy Commissioner Samba and Kathua along with other concerned officers attended the meeting through video conferencing.

The Deputy Commissioners apprised the Div Com about the number of families of West Pakistani refugees in their respective districts. It was informed that DCs have instructed the Tehsildars to conduct verification of the families.

The Div Com asked the concerned authorities to organise special camps and expedite the process of identification of families and properly check the documents and send the cases in his office as early as possible.

He further asked DCs to monitor the process of verification and check the genuineness of families. He further asked to submit details of exact number of WPR families in their respective districts.
