District congress committee Jammu pays tributes to Indira Gandhi on 38th death anniversary

JAMMU: District Congress Committee Jammu Rural under the leadership of Hari Singh Chib, President DCC Jammu Rural today paid glorious tributes to Smt Indira Gandhi ji, former Prime Minister of India on her 38th Death Anniversary in a function organized at Muthi Camp falling in Jammu North Assembly segment.

On the occasion, Mula Ram, former minister and Vice President JKPCC  along with other Congress leaders Uday Bhanu Chib, President Youth Congress Jammu and Kashmir, Som Nath Sharma Block President Patta Paloura Block, Om Parkash President Guru Ravi Dass Sabha, Dr Raj Pal Hans former Director Animal Husbandry, Dr Chander Mohan Sharma, Dev Raj, Madan Singh, Bal Krishan Sharma, Sat Chib, Virender Mehta, Gulshan, Tarun Vaid, Rahul Padha, Ramash Chander and others paid tributes to former Prime Minister and Iron lady Indira Gandhi ji.

The senior Congress leaders recalled the rich contribution of Indira Gandhi and said that leaders from all over the world had tremendous respect for her.

Speaking on the occasion, Mula Ram said the iron lady- Indira Gandhi shall always be remembered for her vision and leadership qualities, who was also credited for making the Nation as strong in respect of defence, economic, education and on various other fronts, while she remained committed to serve and empower all sections of people. He recalled the unprecedented contributions of the late Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi especially that of achieving a historic victory against Pakistan taking thousands of its soldiers into captivity and liberating East Pakistan that is now an independent country called Bangladesh.

Hari Singh Chib, President DCC Rural, Jammu, in his address, said the life of Indira Gandhi ji is a source of inspiration for all. She represented strength and epitomised sacrifice. “Indiraji enhanced the image of India in the community of nations by her farsightedness and unflawed stewardship and India emerged as a strong nation under her leadership. She contributed immensely towards national unity and integrity. Her sacrifice, determination and grit to take the nation ahead will always remain in our collective memories,” he added.

Uday Chib recalled Indira Gandhi as one of the most powerful and inspirational figures in Indian history, saying that the former PM played an important role in establishing India as a strong country. During her tenure as Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi took many decisions which changed the course of India’s history.

Uday appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to strengthen the principle for which Congress party and Indira Gandhi always stood for and laid down her life.  He urged to fight against the forces of communalism and fundamentalism who pose a threat to the unity and integrity of the country.
