Digital platform Co-WIN developed to support vaccination activity with real time information: Dr Harsh Vardhan

Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has said that the unique digital platform-Co-WIN was developed to support the vaccination activity with real time information ensuring that the vaccine against COVID-19 is given to the right people at the right time. The Minister was addressing the British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin, Wales Annual Conference on India’s success in battling COVID-19.

Dr Harsh Vardhan said, India will soon start vaccinating the frontline workers. He said, India is one of the largest global suppliers of vaccines- producing nearly 60 per cent of the world’s vaccines. He said, the country successfully ramped up production to cover its healthcare workers and simultaneously export the vaccines globally. COVID-19 pandemic broke out in December, 2019 and spread across the world.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan highlighted that with the government and whole of society approach, India was able to fight the pandemic, much better than other countries.
