Devi Bhumi shrine at Martand Kashmir

When 13th Aditya was born a bright effulgent light eminated which divided into two different streams. One light took the form of Devi Bhumi and other took form of Devi Bargashikha at nearby hill.

This is the abode of Devi Bhumi and true to her name she chooses earth her place with no associated periphrenalia. During my visit to this place I was told that important festivals at Martand used to take place only after seeking blessings from Devi and then a yearly congregation would take place during Sri Krishna Janamasthami. The idols are placed below the Booniye tree with sindoor smeared over them.
