Delhi witnesses silver lining of recovery as positivity rate dips to 12%

National Capital has witnessed silver lining of recovery after more than three weeks of strict lockdown. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today informed that in the last 24 hours, the positivity rate in the National Capital Territory has dipped to 12 per cent. He said the National Capital also recorded substantial decrease in new COVID cases in the past few days.

Mr. Kejriwal informed that in the last 24 hours nearly 8 thousand 500 fresh COVID cases were reported as compared to around 30 thousand daily cases towards April end. The Chief Minister said that the Capital City is also witnessing considerable ease in availability of Hospital Beds, however , he maintained that demand of ICU beds is still very high. Mr. Kejriwal informed that in the next few days over one thousand more ICU beds will be added to the existing capacity in the city.

Announcing a major relief, Chief Minister said that the Delhi Government will provide financial assistance to every child who has lost both parent due to COVID. He also assured of financial aid to the elders who have lost the single bread earners in their family. Mr. Kejriwal appealed to everyone not to let their guards down till the time the Capital City completely comes out from the imminent threat of the pandemic.
