Death toll in Shopian shoot out is six

Death toll on Shopian shootout Sunday evening hss reached six. One militants and three civilians named as over ground workers (OGWs) by police were reported killed Sunday evening.

A police official however told that two militants and four over ground workers believed to be civilians by locals have been killed and the death toll has reached six. He said situation in the area is under control.

Meanwhile, total shutdown against the Shopian killings called by Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik is being observed across Kashmir. Schools and colleges have been closed, transport is off the roads and shops and commercial establishments are shut.
