Dear Diary: Being ‘You’

Dear Diary,

Being true to yourself is stripping away of everything nonessential until you, the purest essence of you is all that remains. Suddenly you realize that you are not afraid of the dark. You love dancing not caring if anyone is looking or not . You start taking long walks, wake up at the dawn to smell the magic of morning breeze.

Being yourself means all the petty, jealous, competitive feelings you have harbored about others are replaced by generosity and love. You not living someone else’s life, your only focus is to become the best version of yourself. This process can be painful sometimes because we are living in a world of chaotic times, where people around will advise you to do what did not work in their life. You have to confront those feelings within yourself—but no matter what comes up for you in the woods, you will find a way if you are willing.

Remember it’s not about your ego or your expectations, It is about the real you that emerge when your usual structures fall away and you break the cycle. That’s when your solitude delivers rainbows at your doorstep. That’s when you fall in love with life, nature and poetry. Then there is no looking back, the sense of being “YOU” will feed you long after your last dinner.
