DDC Samba reviews Republic Day arrangements


SAMBA, DECEMBER 28: District Development Commissioner Samba, Rohit Khajuria, today convened a meeting of district officers to review the arrangements for smooth and enthusiastic celebration of the Republic Day in the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Rachana Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Gupta, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Kulbhushan Khajuria, General Manager District Industries Centre, Sansar Chand, Assistant Commissioner Development, Sidharath Dhiman, Additional Superintendent of Police, Faisal Qureshi, Chief Education Officer Samba, Chief Medical Officer, Engineers of PWD, PHE, PDD and other concerned.

It was informed that the main function will be organized in the Sports Stadium samba where VIP/VVIP will unfurl the Tricolour and take the salute of the March past contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, FPF, NCC and school children. It was also informed that Republic Day rehearsals shall begin from January 16 onwards and full dress rehearsal will be held January 24.

Necessary arrangements were discussed in the meeting which include detailed security plan, drinking water facility at the venue, cleanliness and sanitation, seating arrangement, traffic management, power supply etc. The DDC also constituted Committees for the supervision of arrangements including screening committee for cultural items, parade squads committee, venue management committee, hospitality and protocol committee, prize selection committee.

The DDC directed district heads of Agricultural, Horticulture, Education, and Rural Development department for presentation of tableaus depicting achievements of their departments.

DDC directed XEN PDD samba and EO Municipality samba to replace/ repair the entire street / flood lights in the town, besides ensure installation of adequate lighting at the venue of celebration for security reasons besides directed Tehsildar samba to make necessary arrangements for refreshments during rehearsal period.
