RAMBAN: District Development Commissioner Ramban, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, convened a meeting of officers of district administration, representatives of national Highway authority of India and construction agencies working on prestigious four laning project of NH-44 to resolve bottlenecks and other confronting issues.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Ramban Nawab Din, ADC, Dr. Basharat Hussain, PD NHAI Jammu Ajak Kumar, ACR, Harbans Sharma,CPO, Uttam Singh,SDM Banihal, Zameer Rishu, XEN of PDD, PWD, PHE and PMGSY besides representatives of the companies of HCC, GAMMON India, NHAI and other concerned officers.
Taking into account importance of prestigious four lane work, DDC assured the companies engaged on job for removing all bottlenecks on National Highway and other construction sites. He discussed all the issues and passed on directions to concern for timely redresal of the same.
DDC resolved various confronting issues and bottlenecks on the spot and referring to the dilapidated condition of NH-1A , DDC directed the company representatives to remove the bottlenecks on all vulnerable locations and no stone be left unturned in the maintenance by way of constructing crush barrier, protection walls, drainages alongside highway in order to regulate the free flow of traffic.
Earlier DDC inspected the NH44 widening project including the under-construction four laning bridge Ramban and Karol and implementation of road maintenance action plan for avoiding inconveniences to commuters besides taking stock of the progress of the project.
Bhat was prompted to inspect the condition of the NH44 in view of ongoing snow and rainy season and its deteriorating condition and the heavy traffic of load carriers and passenger vehicles on it.
It is pertinent to mention here that Nashri to Banihal will comprise bypasses including Ramban and Chanderkote, major and minor bridges, culverts, Junctions besides tunnels.
DDC directed the HCC and GAMMON Companies for properly maintaining the high way and giving due care to in controlling the quality of the material used in repairs. He further directed the concerned agencies to expedite the work to get it completed in time. He also directed the companies to stationed adequate machineries at all sliding areas.
