DDC member from Shopian recommends release of Rs 25 lakhs for improving Covid-19 facilities in district

SRINAGAR, May 1: Senior PDP leader, ex-MLA Watchi and DDC Member Aijaz Ahmad Mir has recommended the release of Rs 25 lakhs from DDC funds for improving Covid-19 facilities in Shopian district.

In a letter to District Magistrate Shopian Sachin Kumar Vaishya, Aijaz Mir as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) has recommended the release of funds for the purchase of necessary items/equipments .

“In view of the fact that Covid-19 is spreading at an alarming rate in Kashmir, I find it utmost important to use DDC council funds in fighting the crisis,” reads the letter

“Pursuant to allotment of funds under PRI Grants vide referred communication the undersigned hereby pledge an amount of Rs 25.00 Lakhs for Covid-19 mitigation measures by building the health infrastructure in my constituency so as to provide relief to public of the area,” it adds.

“In this connection, I recommend the release of funds for the purchase of necessary items/equipments,” It adds.

The items which have been recommended are oxygen cylinders (5 lakh), 02 Eco vans (10 lakh), Oxygen concentrator (1 lakh), Oximeter (30000), Cardiac monitor (70000), OT Table(2 lakh), OT light (Dome Double Led (2 lakh), Beds (2 lakh), Oxygen regulator (30000), Nitrous regulator (20000), nitrous Oxide Cylinder (50000), Masks (N95+Surgical to be distributed in villages ( 1 lakh)—(KNO)
