BUDGAM, DECEMBER 22: District Development Commissioner Budgam, Tariq Hussain Ganaie today chaired a meeting here to take detailed review of works taken in hand post ‘Back to Village-2’ programme relating to various sectors including RDD, PDD, PHE, R&B, Education, and Health in the district.
Among others, the meeting was attended by ADC Budgam, SE PDD, SDMs, ACD, all Exens, BDOs and other concerned.
It was given out that under RDD sector about 72 works of different nature were identified across 17 CD blocks of Budgam of which 59 works have been started for execution and 41 works have been completed so far, thus achieving the target of 55%.
Whereas, 29 relating to PHE, 15 works of Health, 7 under R&B, 22 under Education and 3 under I&FC have been identified to be taken up for completion.
It was said that tendering and retendering of 29 works under PHE is under process and formalities required for execution of these works will be completed on fast track basis.
Earlier in a separate meeting, the DDC reviewed the progress made on the languishing projects across the district.
The DDC was briefed that 115 projects were cleared under languishing scheme to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 382. 088 crore. An amount of Rs 24.268 crore has been spent on 18 different projects pertaining to Education, R&B, PHE, Health and PDD.
It was also given out that bills to the tune of Rs. 34.95 crore have been raised and are under process of uploading thus enabling completion of more projects under JKIDFC.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC urged the officers and other concerned agencies to accelerate the pace of work keeping in view the prevailing and ensuing weather conditions.
He said that the works identified under B2V2 shall be given priority keeping in view requirements on ground. He said the district administration is committed to fulfill all the development aspirations of the people.
