Sought report on status of essential services in District

BUDGAM, DECEMBER 02: District development Commissioner Budgam Tariq Hussain Genie today convened a meeting to review the status of all essential services including power and water supply in the district.

The DDC directed for taking measures to regurlate power supply across the district particularly to Beerwah, Magam, Aarizal and Khag. He said that the upgradation of Magam Ahmad Pora Grid Station from 50 MVA to 100 MVAs is in pipeline which will help in augmentation of power.

The DDC also urged upon the PDD authorities to identify the areas where conductor, electric poles and other material is required so that Rs. 2 crores kept available for the purpose are utilized for augmentation of the power transmission installations.

The DDC further said that to overcome water scarcity alternate arrangements are being put in place including installation high power gen sets for lift pumps at the areas facing the problem.

During the meeting DDC urged upon PHE authorities that 47 works identified and approved under Back to Village phase-I should be completed under given time frame.
