DC Srinagar Mohammad Aijaz Asad flags off Walkathon at Nehru Park

Addressing reporters on the sidelines of the event  the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Aijaz Asad that the aim of the competition is to strengthen the food safety and regulatory environment and awareness among consumers to make healthy and better food choices.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Saturday kick-started the “Eat Right Challenge”, an annual competition of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) for districts here at Nehru Park on the Banks of Dal Lake.

Addressing reporters on the sidelines of the event  the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Aijaz Asad that the aim of the competition is to strengthen the food safety and regulatory environment and awareness among consumers to make healthy and better food choices.

He said the walkathon is a part of the FSSAI’s large-scale initiative called Eat Right India (ERI) under the aegis of the Ministry of Health, to improve public health and combat negative nutritional trends to fight lifestyle diseases.
