JAMMU: The administration has ordered mandatory disclosure of details of tenants by the landlords and property owners in Jammu city.
The order in this regards has been issued by Deputy Commissioner Jammu Anvy Lavasa, a copy of which lies with The Dispatch.
Whereas, the Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu has brought to the notice of undersigned time and again that there is an imminent n. to conduct verification of tenants/domestic helpers as there have been instances of anti-national-social elements seeking hideouts in the residential areas in the guise of tenants/domestic helpers.
Whereas, it is necessary that some measures be taken to make the landlords/property owners accountable before renting out/making available their premises to tenants/domestic helps.
Whereas, I consider the threat posed by such adverse elements as imminent danger to human safety, that warrants immediate preventive measures under Section of CrPC
Now, therefore for the reasons aforestated., and by virtue of powers vested in the under section 1. of CrPC. I, Avny Lavya District Magistrate, Jammu do hereby order and require all landlord(s). owner(s) of properties, attorney holder, person(s) incharge of properties in any capacity (hereafter called as owners) located in entire jurisdiction of the District to comply strictly with the following directions.
All owners shall after the issuance of this order and within ten days of letting/sub-letting/renting out his/her) their house or part thereof to any tenant(s), submit without fa, the detailed path…, of the tenant(s) as per the Declaration Form (annexed herewith), to be signed by both the owner and the tenant(s), to the concerned Police Station, either in person or by registered post addressed to the concerned Station House Officer.
The owners who have already let/sub-let/rented out their house(s) or part(s) thereof to any tenant(s) on any date prior to the issuance of this order, shall, within ten days after the Issuance of this order submit without fail the detail particulars of the tenant(s) as per the declaration form to the concerned Police Station.
It is clarified that all arrangements of letting or sub-letting the property like Paying Guest. tenants etc shall be covered by this order
Owners who have allowed jhuggies in their lands shall also be required to disclose the details as per the declaration form. Every SHO in Jammu District shall maintain a separate register for such purpose. Any person contravening this order shall be punishable under section 188 of Indian Penal Code.
As the notice cannot be served individually on all concerned, this order is hereby passed ex-parte. It is being promulgated for the information of public at large and shall be published on district website, leading newspapers and by affixing copies on the Notice Boards of the offices of SSP Jammu, Commissioner JMC, VC, JDA, all SDMs, all Tehsildars, all SDPOs, all SHOs of Jammu District.
