Azad asks workers to submit memorandum to concerned DCs
SRINAGAR: The Democratic Azad Party (DAP) Monday announced peaceful protest against the land eviction order issued by the Jammu and Kashmir government.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s administration last week had ordered the eviction of State/Kahcharai/Roshni Land from encroachers. The directions were issued to all Deputy Commissioners to complete the process by 31 st January.
Reports suggest that DAP President Ghulam Nabi Azad had asked party leaders and workers to hold peaceful protests against the land orders of eviction from State/Kahcharai/Roshni Land.
Further, the leaders and party workers have been asked to submit their Memorandum to the concerned Deputy Commissioners with effect from 18th January 2023 to 20th January 2023.
Here is the memorandum:
From: Democratic Azad Party To Concerned Deputy Commissioner As you are aware after the issue of Govt. order No. 02-JK(Rev) of 2023 dtd. 4th January 2023 of evicting the people from the State land allotted under the ROSHNI ACT and the kahcharai land, by 31st January 2023.
It has created a panic among people across J&K, UT. The DAP has taken serious note of the order as those who were provided land to build their houses or cultivation to sustain their livelihood will be rendered houseless/landless. This practice should end forthwith and we urge upon the Government to immediately revoke the above-mentioned order, keeping in view that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are the first beneficiaries of its resources. Hence the Govt. should review its decision in the interest of the people, especially those who belong to the poor segment of society.
