Baramulla, Nov 18: A Head Constable (HC) of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) allegedly committed suicide by shooting self with his service weapon in a camp in this north Kashmir district on Wednesday, official sources said.
They said panic gripped in Wadura camp of 92 Batallion of CRPF when firing shot was heard this morning.
They said other personnel immediately rushed to the spot from where the firing was heard and found HC identified as Rajan Kumar in a pool of blood. “The HC identified as Rajan Kumar, a resident of Odisha, was immediately taken to hospital where he was declared brought dead,” they said.
Sources said it was not immediately clear why he took this extreme step. However, police has registered a case and initiated proceedings, the added.
Taking extreme step by security forces engaged in counter militancy operations has not stopped even after authorities introduced Yoga and Art of Living to bring them out from the stress.
