Jammu: Three cases of omicron variant have been confirmed in Jammu after they have been tested negative.
“Three Omicron cases confirmed by NCDC, Delhi from a cluster in Jammu. Sample taken on 30th November. RTPCR testing of entire locality ordered,” the Health and Medical Education department J&K wrote on its official twitter handle.
It asked the people to observe Covid-appropriate behaviour.
Following the conformation of cases, the Health and Medical Education department J&K braces up and will started testing Bantalab and Talba Tillo area of Jammu.
According to sources, , among the patients who have been confirmed for Omicron, two are women and one is a class X student. T
he samples of all three were gone for investigation on November 30.
All three were sent to a lab in Delhi for genome sequencing. All three had no travel history. Their samples were sent for investigation in the routine itself.
The Health Department felt that Omicron could be confirmed in three people from Ireland, Italy and France but when the investigation report came on Tuesday, the health department officials were also surprised. All three had no travel history.
However, all three had participated in the wedding ceremony.
An official of the Health Department said that said that all three were isolates in their homes after coming infected and they were being treated there and all three had come negative after treatment.
