COVID-19 recovery rate improves to 92.79 %; over 22 crore 37 lakh vaccine doses administered in country so far

India has administered more than 22 crore 37 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine in the country so far. 99 lakh Health Care Workers have been given the 1st dose and more than 68 lakh Health Care Workers have taken the 2nd dose, over one crore 59 lakh Frontline Workers have taken the 1st dose and more than 86 lakh front line workers have taken the 2nd dose.

Union Health Ministry said, more than five crore 96 lakh people above 60 years have taken the 1st dose and more than one crore 90 lakh citizens have taken the 2nd dose. The Ministry said, the vaccination exercise as a tool to protect the most vulnerable population groups in the country from COVID-19 continues to be regularly reviewed and monitored at the highest level.

Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal have administered more than 10 lakh beneficiaries of the age group 18-44 years for the first dose of COVID vaccine.
 
Vaccination is a crucial pillar for containment and management of the Covid-19 pandemic. India launched the world’s largest Vaccination drive on 16th January this year. A total of over 26 lakh 24 thousand vaccine doses were administered yesterday. Of them, more than 24 lakh beneficiaries were vaccinated for 1st dose and over two lakh 20 thousand beneficiaries received 2nd dose of vaccine.

In the age group of 18 to 44 years, more than 14 lakh beneficiaries received their first dose and more than 27 thousand beneficiaries of the same age group received the second dose of Covid vaccine yesterday. With this, now the figure has crossed two crore 40 lakh mark across 37 States and Union Territories. The third phase of vaccination for the age group of 18 to 44 years was started from 1st of last month.
