Covid-19: Chhattisgarh govt will bear all education, other expenses of orphaned children

Chhattisgarh government will bear all education and other expenses of the children who have been orphaned due to Covid-19. This scheme will be implemented from this financial year itself. Apart from this, scholarship will also be given to such children. The state government will provide a scholarship of five hundred rupees per month to the children from the first to the eighth grade and one thousand rupees per month to the children from the ninth to the twelfth standard.

All children will be eligible for this scholarship, whether they study in government school or in private school. The Government of Chhattisgarh has also decided that such children, whose main earning member of the family has died due to corona infection, then the education of those children will also be arranged by the state government.

A helpline number has been issued to identify such children in many districts of the state. Also, arrangements are being made to accommodate them in various shelter homes.
