Court directs police to file FIR against 2 BJP activists on allegation of sexual exploitation, blackmailing

SRINAGAR: A local Court in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district directs Jammu and Kashmir police to register an FIR against BJP activists on serious allegations of sexual exploitation and blackmail.

The Court directed Police station Kokernag to register an F.I.R against the BJP activist Mohammad Sidiq Khan and Shahid Ahmad Bhat on serious allegations of sexual exploitation and blackmailing of the applicants levelled in the complaint.

The court order dated 11-02-2022 reads that the complainants (name withheld) have approached the Judicial Magistrate 1st Class Vailoo Kokernag with a prayer seeking direction for registration of FIR against the accused persons on the allegations of sexual exploitation and blackmailing, the court observed that the nature and seriousness of the allegations of the commission of cognizable crime raised by the complainants against the accused persons and needs proper and thorough investigation to ascertain the facts.

Meanwhile, the order and copy of the application was referred to the in-charge police station Kokernag for compliance and an FIR has been registered against the accused persons under relevant provisions of law. (KDC)
