Congress leader Azad meets several delegations in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: Senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, who is on a two-day visit to Kashmir met several delegations in Srinagar on Tuesday.

Azad arrived on Monday in Kashmir amid series of civilian killings in Kashmir for the last two weeks.

Azad met various political leaders, traders and civil society delegations in Srinagar’s Church lane guest house to take a first-hand appraisal of the political situation in Jammu and Kashmir. A senior Congress leader said that Azad arrived in Srinagar on Monday and met dozens of delegations across Kashmir.

The meeting continued on Tuesday during which the scores of political leaders and social activists met him.

He said that the veteran leader also met trade union leaders and EJAC leaders who appraised the leader of the economic situation in the Valley and in Jammu and Kashmir adding that several senior Congress leaders also met the veteran leader in Srinagar. All the meetings were the closed door and no media interaction was allowed in the two days, he added. (KDC)
