The J&K Central Contractors Coordination Committee (JKCCCC) today held a protest against the government in Valley.

The protestors alleged that a total payment of Rs 719 Crores is pending with the government. “On top of that, Order Number 186 by the Finance Department of the state, states that the contractors will be paid only 15% of the payment from the treasury this month, which is an injustice to us,” Chairman JKCCCC said.

He blamed HODs, Chief Engineers, DCs, Executive Engineers for the delayed and incomplete payment. Also, he said that the government claims that it has released the amount, but HODs have not further reimbursed it to the contractors.

The chairman declared, “We warn the government that if the Order Number 186 is not revoked, we will close down all the treasuries. We will not repair the damaged roads or macadamise any road. We will not beautify the cities on Durbar move.”
