Centre provided more than 57 crore vaccine doses to States, Union Territories so far

The Government today said that more than 57 crore five lakh vaccine doses have been provided to States and Union Territories so far. Union Health Ministry said that more than three crore 44 lakh unutilized Covid vaccine doses are still available with the States, UTs and private hospitals to be administered. The Ministry said, over 13 lakh doses are in the pipeline.

The new phase of universalization of COVID-19 vaccination commenced from 21st June this year. The vaccination drive has been ramped up through the availability of more vaccines, advanced visibility of vaccine availability to States and Union Territories for enabling better planning by them and streamlining the vaccine supply chain. As part of the nationwide vaccination drive, the government has been supporting the States and Union Territories by providing them COVID Vaccines free of cost.
