Central govt to organise National Toy Fair 2021 from February 27 to March 2

In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Central Government will be organising National Toy Fair 2021 from February 27 to March 2, which will be held on a virtual platform. It aims to promote dialogue for the holistic development of the industry and present to the globe the richness and vastness of India’s toy manufacturing capabilities. The website for the ‘India Toy Fair 2021’ will enable children, parents, teachers, exhibitors, etc to register themselves to participate in the virtual fair and showcase various facets of the Indian Toy ecosphere.

Exhibitors from Mumbai who are participating in the Toy Fair have welcomed this initiative. One of the exhibitors, Prafulla Pangaonkar, Co-founder of Lovely toys, having a manufacturing unit in Mumbai, has also appreciated this initiative of the central government and also requested everyone to take part in this exhibition. Mr Prafulla said at the moment the Indian toy industry is facing problems such as higher taxation, unavailability of proper raw material and cheap Chinese imports. He requested the central government to look into the issues.
