SRINAGAR: In wake of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the limited number of devotees will be allowed to participate in night-long prayers on Monday at Hazratbal on the eve of Eid-e-Milad-un Nabi (SAW).

CEO Wakf Board, Mufti Farid-ud-din told that it has been decided to allow only a limited number of devotees at the shrine to participate in the night-long prayers.

The decision was taken in order to prevent the deadly virus from spreading, he said, adding that the devotees, who are living close to the shrine and are scheduled to participate in the night-long prayers, have been asked to follow the Covid Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in letter and spirit.

CEO Wakf Board informed that despite allowing a limited number of devotees, the board has taken adequate measures with regard to the Covid related SOPs.

Notably, Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) will be celebrated with religious fervour across Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. The day marks the birth anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Religious processions, special prayer meetings, Seerat Conferences are scheduled to be organized across the J&K to celebrate the day. Moreover, the shrines, Masjids and several markets have been decorated by the people ahead of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW)—(KNO)
