A car skidded off the road and plunged into River Tawi, near Panjtirthi. The driver escaped miraculously, said Police officials.
The Police said, a rashly driven Verna car, which also didn’t have a registration number, skidded off the road and plunged into River Tawi near Panjtirthi, at the end of Sidhra bridge. The driver was identified as Bhanupartap Singh, son of Surinderpal Singh, resident of Sidhra.
The driver escaped the mishap unhurt despite falling from a considerable height. Although, the car was damaged severely, and the driver tried to cross the river to evacuate his vehicle. Failing to do so, he approached the Sidhra Police and the vehicle was evacuated with the help of JCB.
A case of negligent driving has been registered against the driver at Nagrota Police station.
