Bus terminal will be shifted back to Batamaloo soon: BJP

SRINAGAR: Bharatiya Janata Party Kashmir wing Saturday claimed that the bus terminal will be shifted back to Batamaloo.

The BJP has further urged Lieutenant Governor Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha to look into the issue. In a statement, BJP’s Media in-charge Manzoor Bhat said the party leadership is in consistent touch with Batamaloo traders who were massively hit by the shifting of the bus terminal in the year 2017.

He said the delegation of Batamaloo traders and transporters has already met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and UT’s Party President Ravinder Raina.

The party leadership has assured them justice will be delivered to the people who have suffered due to the wrong decisions of the previous regimes, he said.

Bhat said thousands of people including transporters, shopkeepers, and vendors lost their livelihood due to the wrong policies of some persons, who did it for their vested interests.

“Considering the aspirations of people, the bus terminal should be shifted back to Batamalloo, so that they will not face further financial loss,” he said. The youth leader said both traders and shopkeepers were assured to be rehabilitated but things have remained restricted to papers only.

“People were forced to sell their vehicles and shops as they faced financial losses due to shifting of the terminal to Parimpora from Batamaloo,” he said. Bhat appealed to LG Manoj Sinha to into the issue, so that people associated with business and trade will have a sigh of relief.
