JAMMU: Two events of Brass Band and Pipe Band marching position competition concluded today with penal of adjudicators witnessed the performance spread over two sessions at Gulshan Ground, here in the ongoing 19th All India Police Band competition, organised by the J&K Police under the aegis of All India Police Sports Control Board (AIPSCB).
However, the results of both these events have been withheld by the technical penal, citing reasons that it shall be declared on the last day of the event as per the laid down norms.
The hosts Jammu and Kashmir looked confident of a place in these two events. “We have performed up the standards and likings of the penal of judges. So, let us wait for the results expected to be declared on February eight by the technical penal set up for the purpose,” Band Master, SI Mushtaq told SAN.
Now, in the next round, slated for tomorrow, both Brass and Pipe Band teams shall perform in the seating positions at the Police auditorium in two sessions of morning (8 am to 1 pm) and afternoon (2.30 pm to 7 pm.
Earlier, the Bugler contest also took place today awaiting results. The competition, wherein around 1500 participants are taking part, included an all women’s team representing Jharkhand Police.
The event was declared open Advisor to the Governor, K. Vijay Kumar in a well attended function yesterday. Last time J&K hosted the event was in 2002 at Srinagar and won the overall trophy.
