Book Review: "Pearls of Strawberry Moon" leaves indelible imprints on the shore of time

‘Pearls of Strawberry Moon’ is an amazing anthology of poems beautifully composed and artistically articulated by the promising poet of prolific poetic prominence in the panorama of profundity.
The author, Monalisa Dash Dwibedy, is the voice of incredible India. The poems are her divine creations directly emerged from her heart depicting the multiple aspects of human life. The simplicity of language but the richness of expression is the salient feature of her compositions. To her, life is not a static statue of stability rather a dynamic domain of divinity with indomitable spirit for searching for truth, beauty and goodness. No life is a life in itself if it is prisoned even within golden bars in the world of heaven! Thus, the democratic poet feels the fragrance of freedom in every breath stating, “I am not bound to any place, travelling free as a bird”. She realizes the plight of immigrants and feels disappointed for their troublesome painful life, full of terror and horror without any safety and security. As an ardent lover of nature, she feels dearly the pulses of a forest stating emphatically, ” I know forest has soul”. The mass drive for deforestation and industrialization at the cost of killing trees and plants has threatened the very survival of life on the earth. Ecological disequilibrium, global warming and environmental pollution are the emerging threats to the whole class of creatures and the poor human being is the architect of such initiatives in the name of globalization, urbanization and modernization. The acts of foolishness hurt terribly the poet. However, the poet is in love with life divine spreading the petals of peace and harmony in her virtuous actions singing the glory of life in musical tune.
“Let’s fall in love with life, even after life”. She is in state of illumination throwing her ego away from her thoughts and spirits as I-feeling is the deadliest enemy to self -exaltation and self -expression. So long as we-feeling is not developed in us, we will be far from the reality of life of bliss. In her fine-tuned voice,
The ‘I’ keeps changing its inner ambiance in reaction to outside situation
…….still why ‘I’m is not joyful each moment?”
As smile intrinsic drives our journey of life many a mile, she seeks to plant the pearls of smile through her divine strawberry moon of inspiration in each heart, for inspiring is leading. Let each caterpillar of vice evolves the butterfly of virtue through the process of evolving transformation with spiritual awakening. To her,
Smile is for the beginners
Try my transformation, A caterpillar to butterfly
Evolve through the dark
I will gift my wings, kiss the sun!
She is ever in search of motivation and in deeds of motivating others through her behaviour and action. She calls for intrinsic motivation as one can pull the horse into water, but can’t let it drink unless it desires so. The celestial bodies like the sun, the moon, the planets and the stars go on performing nonstop their respective responsibilities without any expectation from anybody. They are the treasures of endless motivation for all of us, but we the human beings hardly do service and sacrifice even for our fellowmen in trouble. Thus, the poet affirms strongly the importance of motivation saying,
Tell me if the sun ever sleeps
The sky ever keeps its secret
If dew drops ever cry
If a spider grumbles weaving
If a bird ever fears its flight
Today’s growing cult of being slave in hands of artificial gadgets is very pathetic and painful to the poet. The modern man has no time for enjoying the beauty of nature. The unending crave for material pursuits has made him mad for money and materials. Humanity is out of reach nowadays. Empathy is a missing link in our actions. Hypocrisy is growing in an alarming trend. The waves of corruption are found everywhere and is bitterly experienced too. Work culture is invisible. In the society of growing intolerance and inhumanity, life often feels disgusted. Thus, the poet asks us,
When was the last time
You camped under the moonlit sky gazing at the stars?
However, she is not impatient and frustrated. She feels the presence of the mighty hearts and helping hands amid the storms of adversity, thus says,
you are not alone! The gift of life is only once.
In order to get solace and tranquillity in our body, mind and spirit, the spiritual poet recites the glory of life in presence of the Master, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, a yogic philosopher cum saint of the highest order stating,
He chants a prayer
Invokes the unseen
Invites to transform
And transcend the physical and breaks the energy locks….
The ethical awakening along with scientific temper is a panacea of all maladies as the poet categorically connects spiritualism with life sublime.
All the poems housed in the anthology are worthy of being appreciated with tokens of love and adoration. The poet has left indelible imprints on the shore of time with her Pearls of Strawberry Moon and proves herself a committed voice for the great cause of humanity and literature at global scenario. Wishing her all success in fanning the sacred flame of humility in thoughts and actions throughout the globe!
