Alleges NC candidates being intimidated by officials
Jammu, Feb 13: Provincial President of National Conference in Jammu and party’s senior leader, Devinder Singh Rana on Saturday asked Bhartiya Janta Party to come up with a reason as to why it’s members abstained from voting in three districts, derailing the democratic process.
” Home Minister Amit Shah made a statement of strengthening grass root level of democracy in Jammu and Kashmir but what BJP did today is against this statement,” Rana said while talking to reporters in Jammu as per news agency.
He accused BJP members of derailing the democratic process in three districts of Jammu by boycotting the voting process.
Rana further alleged intimidation of party’s contesting candidates by some middle rung officials.
“Some middle rung officials are intimidating our candidates and their families for shaping the democratic process towards a particular direction which is not acceptable,” he said. He added that party had already raised this matter with Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir in a recent meeting.
