BBBP Scheme improved sex ratio, increased number of girls in schools in Rajasthan


The Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme has not only proved a boon for improving sex ratio in Rajasthan but also increasing the number of girls in schools. The Sex Ratio has been increased to 950 from 888 as per 2011 census. Jhunjhunu and Sikar are among the best performing 10 districts of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme. AIR Jaipur correspondent reports that the scheme is helping in providing equal opportunities to girl child.

Under the scheme, several steps have been taken by the government which has made it a public movement. The President has awarded Nari Shakti Puruskar to the state for effective implementation of the scheme. District collector of Jhunjhunu, Dinesh Yadav told about the initiatives taken by the administration.

Brand Ambassador of Jhunjunu District of Beti Bachao Beti Padho Campaign Pooja Saini said that after launching this scheme awareness has been increased among people.

As a result of successful implementation of this scheme, the nomination of girls in the secondary and higher secondary level has also been increased by 20 percent per year from last 3 years.
