SRINAGAR: Amid heavy rains and warnings of flash floods, the district administration Ramban and Doda have directed for the closure of schools up to Class 10 and Class 8 respectively.

“It was decided to close the schools upto Class 10 for the day as the district has been experiencing heavy rains amid imminent warning for flash floods”, said a district administration Ramban official. “The teachers concerned have been however asked to attend their duties positively”, the official said.

CEO Ramban has in the meantime confirmed the directive from the district administration saying the directive has been passed for the safety of the student community.

Similarly, the district administration Doda also has ordered for closure of the schools up to Class 8 across the district for the day.

“The staff and Heads of Institutions have been asked to take all necessary and precautionary measures to avoid any untoward incident during the ongoing inclement weather conditions”, Deputy Commissioner Doda in a directive,  said. (GNS)
