KULGAM: Taking governance at the door steps of people, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today visited village Gasran and listened to issues and grievances of people for timely redressal.
PRI members and people from the village apprised the DC about the issues and put forth various demands.
All the issues were listened to patiently by the DC while some of them were redressed on spot.
Later, in a unique initiative Dr Bilal got the newly developed playfield at village Gasranoo inaugurated by a local little boy, Zeeshan Nawaz a student of class Ist to create a sense of belonging among them.
The playground has been established at an estimated cost of Rs. 20 lacs by the Rural Development Department.
The Deputy Commissioner added that these playfields will provide a platform to the local youth to showcase their talent. He also highlighted other youth engagement initiatives which have been taken by the District Administration.
Rasik Salam a young cricketer, was guest of honour during the function.
Among others, ACR, ACD and other officers, besides PRI members, locals, and a good number of players and sports lovers were present on the occasion.
