Rather had resigned from party claiming to be founding members of DPAP
SRINAGAR: Democratic Progressive Azad Party Sunday denied any association with DDC member from Kulgam Annayat Ullah Rather.
District Development Council member of Frisal in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district Anayat Ullah Rathhas on Saturday claimed thst he has resigned from the basic membership of Democratic Progressive Azad Party.
In a statement he claimed he was one of the founding members of the party and due to many reasons he has resigned.
“I am announcing that now I am not holding any membership of the DPAP and from now onwards I have nothing to do with any affairs of the party,” he said. He said he will take further decision only after consulting with his people who have been choosing him and voting for him since 2008.
Reacting to the news, Waseem Yaqoob an additional spokesperson for the Democratic Progressive Azad party said I would like to clarify a recent statement made by a person named Annayat Ullah Rather from Frisal. He claimed that he had resigned from the party’s basic membership, however, it is important to note that he was not a member of our party in the first place.
Our party had just started its membership drive a week prior to this incident, therefore it is impossible for him to have become a member when the membership drive hadn’t even started yet. Furthermore, Mr. Rather has also written a letter as a senior congress leader to the government on 18-03-2023, and we will be sharing the details of this letter in due course, he said.
Our party would like to categorically deny any association with Mr. Rather, and we confirm that he was neither a member nor associated with the Ghulam Nabi Azad led Democratic Progressive Azad Party. We urge everyone to be cautious of such false claims and to verify any information before making public statements, he said.
