Govt issues avalanche warning for 7 districts of J&K, Ladakh

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir State Disaster Management Sunday issued an avalanche warning in 8 districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

Jammu and Kashmir State Disaster Management in a statement said avalanche with a medium danger level is likely to occur above 2500/2600 metres over Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch, Ramban, Bandipore and Kupwara districts in the next 24 hours.

“Avalanche with low danger level is likely to occur above 2600 metres over BARAMULLA, & GANDERBAL districts in next 24 hours. People living in these areas are advised to take precautions and avoid venturing into avalanche-prone areas”, the statement reads.
