Avalanche warning issued in 10 districts in J&K

Govt issues avalanche warning for 7 districts of J&K, Ladakh

SRINAGAR: Avalanche warning has been issued in 10 districts of Jammu and Kashmir for next 24 hours.

In a statement issued to The Dispatch, Jammu and Kashmir Disaster Management Authority said, “Avalanche with MEDIUM Danger Level is likely to occur above 2500 metres over GANDERBAL district in next 24 hours.

And avalanche with *LOW Danger Level* is likely to occur above 2500 metres over *ANANTNAG, BANDIPORE, BARAMULLA, DODA, KISHTWAR, KULGAM, KUPWARA, POONCH & RAMBAN* districts in next 24 hours, the statement reads.

People living in these areas are advised to take precautions and avoid venturing in the avalanche prone areas.
