Authorities to launch De-Addiction campaign: DC Baramulla


BARAMULLA, NOVEMBER 22: To renew efforts for the total eradication of drug addiction, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo today informed that a massive drug de-addiction campaign will be launched in the district soon.

He said that the campaign will include various activities ranging from organising awareness camps and workshops besides ensuring strict enforcement of anti-drug laws.

Meeting was attended by heads of various departments including health, education, Youth services and Sports, NYK and representatives of NGOs.

Addressing the meeting, the DDC termed eradication of the abuse vital for securing the aspirations of youth. He said that the campaign will have wider components including rehabilitation of addicts, imparting skill development training and other elements of vital importance.

Meanwhile, various officers and NGOs came up with their feedbacks and suggestions regarding the issue and sought implementation of relevant provisions in letter and spirit.
