Authorities extend suspension of train services till May 24

SRINAGAR, May 16: In wake of the spike in Covid-19 cases, the Railway authorities on Sunday decided to extend the suspension of train services in the Kashmir Valley till May 24.

A Railway Official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the train services between Banihal-Baramulla section and vice-versa will remain suspended till further one week period with effect from 17-05-2021 to 24-05-2021.

Chief Area Manager (CAM), Northern Railways, Kashmir, Saqib Yousuf told KNO the suspension of train services has been extended for one more week. The further decision about the suspension of services shall be taken on May 24,” Yousuf said.

Earlier, the rail service in the Valley had remained suspended for almost 11 months between March 2020 and February 2021 owing to the situation arising out of Covid-19—(KNO)
