Assam govt to promote all students from class 1 to 9 even if they do not appear in exams

In Assam, Education department has clarified that all the students from Class 1 to 9th standard should be promoted to the next class whether they appear in examination or not.

An order issued by the Commissioner-Secretary in the Education Department said that though the schools could hold annual examinations in the first week of this month, but it was not mandatory for students to appear.

The order said that classes for next session would begin from the 1st of next month and this order is applicable to all non – government schools of Assam. This decision was taken due to the lockdown situation.
