BUDGAM: Acting tough against the traffic law violators, the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO), Budgam Manzoor Ahmad today blacklisted as many as 25 vehicles, suspended 3 route permits and 2 driving licenses for violations against traffic rule and road safety violations.
A checking/ enforcement team led by ARTO conducted day-long checking of vehicles in Chadoora area of Budgam and during the drive more than 100 vehicles were checked for traffic rule/road safety violations.
During the drive, as many as 25 vehicles were blacklisted on the spot, while 2 driving licenses and 3 route permits were processed for suspension.
Documents of 25 vehicles were retained for further processing under the provisions of MV Act 1988 and rules framed thereunder.
An amount of Rs. 30000 as fine is also expected to be realized from offending vehicles/drivers.
The ARTO said that drive shall continue in Towns and Rural areas of the district and strict action as per the law shall be taken against the erring drivers for road safety violations.
