Army soldier killed in Kupwara

KUPWARA: An army soldier was killed in the Lolab area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday afternoon, official sources said.

They said that the killed soldier was part of a Road Opening Party (ROP) at Lassipora General Road. While officials ruled out it as a militant attack, they said the confirmation was awaited, if it was a case of fratricidal killing or there were some other reasons for the death. However, they said, there were few shots heard. (GNS)
