Army rescues civilians from drowning

Jammu: Indian Army personnel rescued two civilians from drowning in Jammu and Kashmir.

Their JCB was washed away and they were stranded in the Marau River in the Kishtwar district.

Sajid Ahmad Mir and Mushtaq Ahmad were working on the river bank when their JCB got washed away and submerged.

On receipt of information from locals, an Army column from Nawapachi post immediately rushed towards the site of the accident.

Jumping into the river in the fast flowing water, Indian Army along with JKP and locals successfully took out the civilians from the submerged JCB vehicle with the help of ropes in a 90 minutes long difficult rescue mission. Prompt action of troops in the rescue operation saved the lives of two civilians.
