Army renovates Rashanpora Eidgah in Kupwara

KUPWARA: As part of its outreach initiatives, Indian Army’s Kupwara Terriers have renovated the Eidgah near Baba Syed Sarwar Sahib shrine at Rashanpora in Kupwara district.

“Kupwara Terriers was approached by locals from Rashanpora for provision of a fence covering the Eidgah located near the ziyarat compound where 300 residents of the village offer eid prayers,” said an official spokesman.

Kupwara Terriers provisioned a 300 feet long fence to  prevent  animals from grazing at the prayer ground, he said.

The inauguration ceremony was witnessed by locals of the village Rashanpora. Commanding Officer of Kupwara Terriers interacted with the locals and village elders. The village elders were appreciative of Army’s initiative and thanked Kupwara Terriers for their noble efforts.

“Indian army is committed to engage with locals in the overall development and progress of Kashmir,” said the spokesman.
