Jammu: Indian Army conducted a month-long Skill Development Course on IT Literacy at remote village Nadka in Ramban district of Jammu division.
The month long course had commenced on December 8, 2022. A total of 51 students including 21 girls got benefitted from this cadre. The course concluded today.
The IT Literacy cadre was initiated with intent of empowering the local students with necessary skills of Computers.
The capsule was organised over a period of 30 days wherein basic computer education was imparted to students of remote areas who are hitherto unaware of IT education.
The noble initiative was joined by local Government schools by subscription to IT classed. The IT Literacy programme is an extension of Central Government flagship project of Sarv Shiksha Abhiyaan.
Army official present during the event said that this cadre not only facilitated modernizing the education but also imparted basic literacy towards Government initiatives of transparent governance.
Indian Army had provided desktop PC, laptops and All in One type PC for the cadre. During the closing address, the students were also informed about various courses and schemes promulgated by both state and Central Govt which could benefit them in utilizing the recently acquired skill set in future.
The curriculum of this cadre was a mix of theory and practical which was biased towards letter to ensure maximum handling of IT assets.
